Our Story

This site was built by the owners of Kafie 1901 Cigars & Kafie 1901 Coffee as a way of creating an online virtual brochure. As premium cigar makers we wanted to develop a platform where every connoisseur has access to our products. All premium cigars are offered at MSRP in order to protect our brick and mortar retail partners. This website also serves as a platform for brick and mortar shops to be able to place wholesale orders.  We want this to be your goto website for all of our products. 

Our Story

The Boutique Cigar Association, Inc. was created as a non-profit organization in July of 2016.  What started off as a unified voice against federal regulations has now turned into a platform to market, debut, and highlight boutique cigar companies.  Boutique Smoke is a website developed to enhance the reach of all partner companies and brands on a global level. As our brands are not intended for mass market distribution, this platform was created to facilitate access to connoisseurs. All participating companies are proud members of Cigar Rights of America, and supporters of family owned brick and mortar retailers.  All premium cigars are offer at MSRP in order to protect our retail partners.  Thank you for your support!

Wrapper

High quality leaves comprising the outside layer of a cigar. Most of the flavor lies here.

Binder

The layer of leaves under the wrapper. Good for construction, flavor, and burn

Filler

The filler tobaccos complete the blend. This is the center of the cigar.

Wrapper

Wrappers are the highest quality leaves. It is the outside layer of tobacco and gives a cigar one of its primary flavor components. Wrappers are usually very high-quality leaves, available in colors ranging from light to dark. Wrappers are very important to taste, some blenders say that 70% of the flavor of a blend comes from the wrapper.

Binder

The Binder is the layer of leaves under the wrapper, usually comprised of 2-3 tobacco leaves.  It holds the filler in place and the tightness of the binder also determines the draw. These tobaccos are basically comprised of wrapper leaves that did not make the cut, usually due to a small tear, a hole, or some physical imperfection.

Filler

The Filler tobaccos are what complete the blend. There are two types of filler tobaccos. Long filler: the whole leaf running from the head to the foot of the cigar and Short filler: made up of shredded pieces of leaves.  The filler maintains the flavor, strength, and boldness of the cigar.  All three components come together to create a blend.
